Oh dear, this is going to be hard. Sam is currently a physics student at the University of Warwick (That's in Coventry, England btw, not actually in Warwick.) He lives in Lane End when not at uni and knows most of the other people mentioned on the websites through his old school (John Hampden) or Hambleden Valley Youth Group.
How did Don't Lock Sam Up start?
Okay, this is a long story... The website 'Lock Sam Up' (LSU) was created (not by Rob) in the wake of an accident Sam had where he punched someone in the face at his youth group a while ago. LSU began with few things and was primarily about people reporting other supposed 'attacks' Sam had allegedly made. This might have not lasted so long had it not been for the idea of the 'reconstruction' (refered to as recons on LSU) of Sam's 'attacks' through photographs. (See first recon.) People liked this because it made Sam look stupid and they could laugh at him. This idea was soon expanded on so other people could be laughed at and get to do stupid things. (See Recon 2) Eventually 'Don't Lock Sam Up' (DLSU) was born once it was found that the gathering of people to pose for stupid photos was quite fun. It basically had the same idea of 'recons' but they were better and had Sam being the hero (although still looking like a pratt). (See DLSU media page)
What's DLSU about?
It's basically about trying to make Sam sound like he isn't a criminal and is actually a nice person. (But it goes completely ott.)
Is there anything worth looking at on LSU?
There is the recons already mentioned and also recons three and four which will help people understand what's going on. But to be honest the rest is quite rubbish apart from the flowchart which even us at DLSU think is funny.
What is SamWatch?
SamWatch is a major reason that the whole thing still exists. It is a forum created which has acted as a good way for people to stay in touch but while most of the talk is not related to Sam at all it still stops people from forgetting LSU and DLSU.
