Brief Outline:

Situated not particularly close to a not particularly nice town one might think this Southend could be a disappointment. However what this road lacks in any form of amenities it makes up for in the randomness of it's signage. The road itself is also fairly random with part of it being one way so it is hard to tell which bits actually belong to Southend Road. This is made harder by the first sign which is almost entirely hidden in a hedge. The next sign is almost completely covered in grey spray paint. At the other end the disappointment is nearly complete when a shabby sign comes into view. But fortunately 'Basingstoke and Deane' council have seen fit to erect a new sign almost right next to this one. And what a fine new sign it is too!
