Brief Outline: Things are not always clear cut when it comes to Southends. Take this unique specimen, it has a hyphen instead of a space and is the only known Southend to have this. Technically this isn't even accounted for in the ASDA Board classification, but after much deliberating it was decided that a hyphen can also count the same as a South End with a space. However, it becomes even more controversial. While this South-end has a lovely rural location, it has a complete absence of signage. ASDA Board members have investigated and obtained the necessary vocal and map evidence, even getting confirmation from the Hertfordshire council archives that this is indeed a historic South-end. This sadly means it is the 'lowest' class of 5.2. However, signs can change and be added, who knows maybe this settlement will one day have a sign as unique as the settlement. |
